It is a city known for its expensive and luxurious living and is the center for the latest fashion trends. The city is located in the north-bending arc of the river Seine and includes two islands, the Saint-Louis and the larger de la Cité, which form the oldest part of the city. This city’s original name was Lutetia Parisiorum, translated as the mud town.
