This island was known for its fine white marble, which gave rise to the term “Parian” to describe marble or china of similar qualities. During its earlier days the Parian was the main source of wealth. It is situated in the center of the Cyclades islands. The island has been inhabited since around 4000 B.C., where the island was called Minoa and was civilized by Minoans. The Kolymbithres beach is ideal with fine sand and a rock formations which resemble a lunar landscape!
